In the final part of this four part episode, DET Podcast Presenter Mariem Dekhili discusses ‘Comedy Role Models’ and ‘Future Ventures’ to look out for with Comedian, Artiste, and Broadway Dancer: Mina Liccione.

Ideal Comedy Partners

00:00 Comedian, Artiste, Dancer, Mina Liccione: Who would I like to perform with? Oh my gosh.

Well, this is a hard question because it’s like who I perform standup with or to do a comedy show with.

I will take it a step further, okay? Ali and Dave, these are like my rocks.

DET Podcast Presenter, Mariem Dekhili: So anyone but these two… Mina.

Anyone but these two, sure. Moving forward, I’ve worked a lot with Muammar in the past and I would love to work with him again.

I would also love to work with Bassem Youssef.

00:30 Comedian, Artiste, Dancer, Mina Liccione: I think that their comedy has such a powerful soul to it.

Chris Rock, and of course I love Fluffy. I mean, he’s a storyteller at heart. I love his energy and I love getting to know more his culture.

Arab-Latino Culture: Food and Family

Like I'm an Italian, so I really relate a lot to the Arab culture and also the Latino culture. It's like, we are all about food and family.

I would love to do some crazy kind of sitcom or some kind of comedy series or a tour with these guys; it would be fabulous.

Upcoming Shows: Arabised

DET Podcast Presenter, Mariem Dekhili: Do you have any upcoming shows to look out for?

00:57 Comedian, Artiste, Dancer, Mina Liccione: Yes, right now I’m going to take a few weeks off, but when I come back, inshallah, my new special Arabised will be released.

DET Podcast Presenter, Mariem Dekhili: That’s wonderful.

Where can we see it? I’ll have to announce that later. I’m not allowed to say. It talks a lot about what we talked about; comedy with purpose.

01:27 Comedian, Artiste, Dancer, Mina Liccione: It is all about this, you know, this New York Italian comedian who moves to the Middle East and never left. It’s been like 17 plus years now and just being Arabized and what that means and what’s crazy.

Because you also, you mentioned that I am a mum; I am a mum. I love it, I have two beautiful boys, my twins; they are half Arab, half Italian born with full beards and skinny jeans.
