Part 3 of this three part interview examines the darker side of the Rapid Support Forces’ (RSF) backers in Sudan as the RSF encircle the Sudanese Armed Forces’ (SAF) last stronghold in Darfur, El Fasher, with international observers labelling this ‘genocide’ loud and clear.

We discuss the RSF’s backers in the UAE, confirmed reports of Colombian mercenaries in Darfur, and Sudanese gold in this final episode live from El Fasher.

DET is joined by Sudanese journalist, Muammar Ibrahim, a Sudanese journalist from Darfur with over six years of frontline reporting experience for Al Jazeera, Al Mamlaka TV, and Arabi Post. He has covered protests, war, and humanitarian crises across Sudan, including from besieged El Fasher.

Deafly Silence: The International Community

Editor-in-Chief, Gus Anderson: What is your message to the international community?

Sudanese Journalist, Muammar Ibrahim: “This injustice must be stopped.

The RSF’s Patron & Mercenary Trainers

Yet the UAE, the chief backer of the rebels stands by them bringing in recent months mercenaries from Colombia, which you have already watched in multiple videos with the Colombian mercenaries shelling the city of El Fasher.

Ibrahim: Until this very moment, I believe that those who shell the city now are the Colombian mercenaries. They are not Sudanese. They bombard us, using strategic and kamikaze drones against the city and it's residents.

The RSF destroyed everything; the matter ended up in a complete tragedy.

With the continuation of these attacks, especially in the refugee camps of Zamzam and Abu Shouk, resulting in a upshot of total disaster.

UN Reports: Refugee Camp Massacres

According to UN Reports, 1, 500 civilians were killed as a result of the mass violations perpetrated by the RSF in Zamzam and Abu Shouk camps.

Worse, those killed in these camps did not get the chance to have their dead bodies buried.

Ibrahim: They (the RSF) have turned the camp into a venue for the Colombian mercenaries, who have been brought in to train the RSF.

Are there anymore dangerous and graver violations than what is happening in Sudan, specifically in Darfur and North Darfur in El Fasher?

Crises in Perspective

Any crisis in this world is dwarfed by what is happening in Sudan.

Ibrahim: It is genocide, it is ethnic cleansing, and it is a attempt to displace residents and replace them under new projects orchestrated by the UAE.

International reports suggest that the UAE is behind the RSF. There is proof and official statements all pointing to this fact.

But who really wants to stop this country and hold it accountable in Sudan? It (the UAE) provides the RSF with canons, strategic drones, logistical support… everything.”

Ibrahim: The UAE exploits the land of Sudan, brings in mercenaries in which it has no interests but to steal Sudanese gold provided by its ally in Sudan: Hemedti."
